The ever-notorious Michael Lohan couldn’t be happier about his daughter’s single status these days. Lindsay Lohan’s father told ABCNews.com late Monday, “Well, thank God! I think it’s a healthy decision that she take a break and relax and pursue her own career and her own goals. What they had was very toxic. It had become very toxic.” Michael further adds,

“Lindsay doesn’t need to keep following Samantha around. She needs to sit down with her parents. She needs the support of both of us to help her along. Lindsay’s an emotional person. I want her to get on with her life in the right direction and a healthy way.”

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have publicly been together since May 2008. And Michael Lohan has been campaigning for his daughter to end her relationship with the 31-year-old disc jockey for months. Now, he seems to be getting what he asked for — at the expense of LiLo’s emotions as she has been reported to be in “absolute hell” after the breakup.

After weeks and months of evading the paparazzi’s nonstop questioning, Lindsay Lohan finally admitted that she and DJ Samantha Ronson is a couple.

Ever since the start of 2008, Lindsay has never been seen with a guy nor has she been rumored with anyone. During her birthday last July 2, Lilo finally announced that she and Sam are a couple.

Lindsay Lohan was having a busy easter weekend from shopping, to dinner, to clubs.  She went shopping in Ventura, California together with her friends wearing a sleeveless grey mini dress.  Then, she ate at Katsuya Restaurant and after dinner Lindsay and Samantha Ronson went to Villa Lounge in West Hollywood.  Photos below.
